Before scheduling, confirm the requested tests, clinician order or note, fasting requirements, patient identification, hotel address and which clinician should receive the results.
Safe assessment and the next step
Sample collection should be performed by appropriate healthcare personnel within a valid laboratory pathway. Interpretation of results belongs to the treating clinician or relevant clinical team, not simply the person collecting the sample.
If urgent or serious symptoms are present, arranging a laboratory test alone may be insufficient; appropriate clinical assessment should come first.
