Discharge from a hospital or clinic does not always mean that care is complete. For patients staying at a hotel, medicines, wound care, mobility restrictions, follow-up appointments and the planned flight date should be considered together.
Information that makes coordination easier
New or worsening breathing difficulty, uncontrolled bleeding, altered consciousness, serious chest pain, high fever with rapid deterioration or red flags listed by the treating clinician require urgent assessment.
Safe assessment and the next step
The discharge summary and prescription plan are organised for review.
Wound care, nursing or vital-monitoring needs are identified.
Follow-up appointments and transport are coordinated.
Support needed in the hotel environment is planned.
If a flight is planned, fitness for travel and any transfer or escort needs are assessed separately.
Follow the emergency instructions in the discharge documents. For new serious or rapidly worsening symptoms, prioritise urgent medical assessment or urgent hospital assessment rather than planned aftercare.
Keep the discharge summary, prescription, procedure or operation report, clinician contact details and follow-up dates together in one file.
Medi Guest Istanbul helps coordinate aftercare, nursing, follow-up and transfer needs for patients staying in Istanbul hotels after discharge.
